Ashley teacher speaks out at board meeting

NEW HANOVER COUNTY | Jennifer Sugerik was the only speaker to come forward Tuesday night during the New Hanover County Board of Education meeting.
She only took about a minute to voice her plea – that the board not vote on administrative contract renewals until teacher working condition surveys and AdvancEd reports were made public later this year.
Sugerik is a music teacher at Ashley High, and she said she went to the meeting to represent some of the faculty and staff at the school who share her opinion that the board should have the complete results before renewing contracts, which includes Ashley High's Principal Jackson Norvell, who became principal two years ago.....
